Hayden Panettiere

Since Heroes is now officially on hiatus until April 23, it’s no surprise that Monday’s episode was full of action, making it very difficult to single out one outstanding hero for the week. But, since she’s cute, clever and has the pretty amazing power of tissue regeneration, it was only a matter of time before Claire Bennet got the honors.

While Claire’s ability has always been kick-ass, her role as the good daughter and cheerleader have pretty much kept her on the straight and narrow. But even good girls have breaking points, and Claire reached hers this week when once again she found herself in a strange situation with very little by way of an explanation. Always a slightly ominous figure, Claire chose not to be intimidated by the Haitian and showed a fair bit of street smarts when she ripped off his passport and boarding pass to lose him at the airport. Then, turning up on Peter Petrelli’s doorstep, she came face to face with her paternal grandmother for the first time, but still managed to handle herself with aplomb. Not many teenagers display that kind of grace under fire.

Hayden Panettiere’s career is officially red-hot thanks in no small part to Heroes, and even though it’s been awhile since she was last spotted cavorting with Paris Hilton, there’s no doubt that this girl is on the fast track to celebrity. In fact, it probably won’t be long before she’s got her very own celebrity prop in the Bodog Sportsbook…

Hayden Panettiere will be appearing at New York Comic Con on behalf of Entertainment Legends where she will be available for autographing and will “pose” for a limited number of photos with fans on both Saturday 2/24 and Sunday 2/25. The “posed” limited photo opportunity will require a $10 donation to a charity yet to be named by Ms. Panettiere. A rising film and TV star, Hayden is currently starring in the NBC television drama Heroes, where she has been cast in the unique and challenging role of a high school cheerleader who is literally indestructible. The new NBC series is a critical and audience hit. NYCC convention officials note that Ms. Panettiere’s participation in their event adds still more entertainment value and celebrity appeal to a convention that is already brimming with star-studded appearances.
